GLS expands into Türkiye through strategic joint venture
Amsterdam, 1 july 2026 - GLS, a leading parcel company with a presence in Europe and North America, today announced the establishment of GLS Türkiye, a new joint venture that marks the company’s entry into one of Europe’s fastest-growing parcel markets.
The new company will be led by Özgür F. Kut as CEO. Joining GLS in the venture is a group of Turkish logistics investors led by Aslan Kut, who played a defining role in the establishment of multiple leading parcel delivery companies in Türkiye and later co-founded and scaled one of the country’s most prominent parcel operators. The investor group also includes Turgut Erkeskin, former president of FIATA, the global federation of freight forwarders, and Şerafettin Aras, current chairman of the board of UND, a leading transport association in Türkiye. The partnership combines GLS' Pan-European and North American network, brand and expertise with deep Turkish market knowledge from several senior executives within the logistics and distribution market.
"Türkiye is a strategically important extension of our European network and represents a key cross-continental gateway into Asia. We've seen strong cross-border parcel flows between Türkiye and Europe for years, and establishing a local presence allows us to serve those connections more effectively. This joint venture gives us the local market expertise we need while providing access to GLS' global network as well as operational excellence, premium services and a strong brand to Turkish customers and businesses," said Dr. Karl Pfaff, CEO of GLS Group. “We are happy and honoured to have such an excellent team of Turkish entrepreneurs at our side.”
"Turkish businesses and consumers deserve a parcel provider that combines international operational excellence with genuine local knowledge. Our team brings deep experience in the Turkish logistics market, and we're focused on building operations tailored to local needs while delivering the reliability and service quality that GLS is known for across Europe," said Özgür F. Kut, CEO of GLS Türkiye.
"In recent months, we have worked very closely with Aslan, Özgür and Turgut to develop a business concept. Today, we founded GLS Türkiye and now very much look forward to bringing our ideas and vision to life," said Saadi Al-Soudani, Group Chief International Officer of IDS.
GLS Türkiye will operate under the GLS brand, combining the company's proven European parcel delivery expertise with deep local market knowledge. The venture establishes GLS in one of Europe's fastest-growing parcel logistics markets and extends the company's network to serve businesses and consumers across Türkiye.
The company expects to begin operations by the end of 2026.

The agreement marks a further step in the expansion of GLS's Out-of-Home network, bringing its parcel lockers to Tamoil service stations and making parcel collection even more accessible and seamlessly integrated into customers' daily routines.
For Tamoil, the initiative forms part of a broader strategy to further develop its network by transforming its service stations into multifunctional hubs that are increasingly integrated into people's everyday lives, offering innovative, accessible and value-added services.
The first locker installations became operational in March 2026 in the provinces of Milan and Turin, with an expansion plan that includes a further 50 installations by March 2027.

Thanks to this initiative, we will further expand our presence with accessible, 24/7 solutions, delivering a tangible improvement to the parcel collection experience. GLS accelerates its e-commerce strategy and redefines returns with the launch of Shop Return Service
More than 100,000 GLS Points across Europe for simple and widespread returns management. A digital, fully customisable solution that can also be used for returns of shipments originally handled by other logistics operators. Returns become a strategic lever to expand the range of services offered to businesses and enhance the customer experience.
GLS accelerates its e-commerce strategy and redefines returns with the launch of Shop Return Service
Milan, 8 april 2026 - GLS, one of the leading parcel delivery providers in Italy and Europe, is accelerating the transformation of eCommerce with the launch of Shop Return Service, a new solution designed to simplify and optimise returns management for both domestic and international shipments.
At a time when eCommerce continues to grow rapidly and returns management has become one of the key challenges for retailers and logistics providers, GLS is introducing a solution that transforms a complex process into a seamless, self-service and fully integrated experience. The objective is twofold: to improve the customer experience while providing businesses with greater operational efficiency and control.
The service is based on an intuitive, fully customisable digital platform. End customers can manage the entire returns process independently: they access the dedicated portal, complete the online form - including the reason for the return -receive a PDF shipping label by email, attach it to the parcel and drop it off at the GLS Point most convenient for them. From there, the shipment is handled through the GLS network until it reaches its final destination.
A key distinguishing feature of Shop Return Service is its flexibility. The solution can also be used for returns relating to shipments that were originally delivered by other logistics providers. This significantly broadens the opportunities available to businesses and further strengthens GLS's positioning as an increasingly open, integrated and market-oriented logistics partner.
"We are proud to introduce Shop Return Service, a solution designed to simplify and innovate returns management for both businesses and consumers," said Luca Mezzana, Chief Strategy, Transformation & Digital Officer at GLS Italy. "In a market increasingly driven by eCommerce, we believe it is essential to provide intuitive and flexible tools that enable customers to manage returns independently, while giving businesses full control over their processes. Thanks to a network of more than 100,000 GLS Points across Europe, we are able to offer a widespread, efficient service that meets the needs of modern lifestyles."

GLS doubles European out-of-home network, becoming one of Europe's fastest-growing OOH Players
GLS, a leading parcel service provider with presence in Europe and North America, closes out a year of strong expansion by nearly doubling its European OOH delivery network in just 24 months, expanding from 70,000 to 130,000 points as of December 2025.
GLS doubles European out-of-home network, becoming one of Europe's fastest-growing OOH Players
Amsterdam, 10 February 2026 - GLS, a leading parcel service provider with presence in Europe and North America, closes out a year of strong expansion by nearly doubling its European OOH delivery network in just 24 months, expanding from 70,000 to 130,000 points as of December 2025.
Peak-season[1] OOH volumes rose 43% compared with the previous year, highlighting strong seasonal demand alongside overall network growth.
This rapid growth makes GLS one of the fastest-growing OOH players in Europe. Rather than focusing on sheer scale, the company is expanding strategically, building a high-quality, service-led network of parcel shops and lockers to meet growing consumer demand for flexible and convenient delivery options.
Building on this momentum, GLS has set an ambitious target of 30,000 own parcel lockers across its network by 2030 at the latest, reinforcing its commitment to becoming one of Europe's leading OOH networks.
"GLS' European OOH network has almost doubled in 24 months, highlighting the rapid shift in consumer delivery preferences," said Johan Holstein, Digital & Last-mile Transformation Director at GLS Group.
"With demand continuing to rise, we’re growing with purpose, focused on quality and accessibility and committed to sustaining this momentum as we build one of Europe’s leading OOH networks—including 30,000 strategically placed own parcel lockers by 2030 at the latest."
The expansion is backed by significant volume increases across GLS markets. Nearly 29% of GLS’ B2C parcels are now delivered to or picked up from one of GLS’ OOH locations, with overall OOH volumes more than doubling compared with December 2024. A number of countries, such as Germany, Poland and the Czech Republic saw growth rates of more than 100%.
The GLS network, including partners, now counts 130,000 OOH points across Europe, comprising approximately 100,000 parcel shops and 30,000 lockers.
Its parcel shop network is particularly strong in Italy, Denmark and Spain, with premium, well-placed locations delivering high service quality and enhanced customer experiences. This combination of strategically placed shops and lockers makes GLS one of Europe's most accessible and customer-centric OOH networks. At the same time, home delivery remains a cornerstone of the service, offering premium to-door options with live tracking and in-flight redirection.
Strategic partnerships continue to drive the company's network expansion, with major collaborations in Germany, the Czech Republic, Italy, the Netherlands and Poland significantly extending GLS' reach and accessibility across Europe.
As consumer expectations for delivery flexibility continue to evolve, GLS’ investment in a service-led physical and digital OOH infrastructure positions the company to meet growing demand while creating a smoother, more accessible and people-focused delivery experience across Europe.
Customer needs are changing faster than ever and both GLS and Royal Mail, which sit within the global logistics group International Distribution Services (IDS), are rapidly expanding their OOH offering to customers. Royal Mail, GLS’ sister company in the UK, has seen an 80% increase in its own number of lockers and shops in a year, reinforcing its position as the UK’s largest multi-channel parcel network with over 25,000 parcel points and supporting its ambition to reach 45,000 Royal Mail parcel points by 2030.

GLS Lockers arrive at IPlanet service stations
Milan, 09 February 2026 - GLS, one of Italy's leading express courier companies, announces a new partnership with IPlanet, a joint venture established in 2024 by IP Gruppo API and EV Asset Holdings S.p.A. to provide services for the electrification of service areas on urban and extra-urban roads and active in the development of charging infrastructure for electric vehicles. With this agreement, GLS further expands its Out-of-Home network with the installation of lockers at IPlanet service stations.
The first installations began in December 2025. To date, there are 10 GLS lockers in operation, located between Piedmont and Lombardy, with a concentration mainly in the provinces of Milan and Turin. In addition to these, there are 24 installations currently being completed, distributed between Lombardy, Lazio, Emilia-Romagna, Liguria, and Piedmont.
The goal is to reach 100 active GLS lockers at IPlanet stations by 2026, located in strategic locations such as large cities and provincial capitals.
In a context where consumers demand increasingly flexible and accessible delivery solutions, GLS continues to invest in the development of its GLS Point network to effectively respond to the need for high-value service for its sender customers and end recipients.
Thanks to this collaboration, recipients will be able to manage their shipments completely independently, thus reconciling the collection phase with the commitments of modern life. The GLS Lockers installed at IPlanet stations will be operational 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. At the same time, IPlanet will be able to further expand its range of services to customers, enriching it with the collection of online purchases at IPlanet stations: a service that is increasingly in demand by consumers.
"The partnership with GLS represents a further step in the evolution of IPlanet service stations towards a model increasingly focused on services and sustainability. Integrating GLS Lockers into our stations means offering customers an even more complete experience, combining mobility, electric charging, catering, car services, and digital services in a single location, accessible 24 hours a day. It is a concrete example of how we want to enhance our infrastructure, responding to the new needs of an increasingly dynamic everyday life," says Pasquale Cuzzola, CEO of IPlanet.
“Our goal is to constantly expand the GLS Point network to offer increasingly convenient and personalized delivery solutions. We recognize IPlanet's ability to innovate in the field of mobility services, which is why we wanted to extend our distribution capacity by collaborating with a company that has been able to deliver high value transformation for the customer," said Luca Mezzana, Chief Strategy, Transformation & Digital Officer at GLS Italy. “Out-of-Home solutions offer a real advantage for both senders and recipients, and with outdoor lockers, shipments can be picked up at any time of day, positively improving the shopping experience.”

About the VULCAN Group
Over 50 years of putting our energy at your service.
Società Italiana Gas Liquidi Spa was founded over 50 years ago with the aim of providing its customers with clean and economical energy. From the very beginning, we recognised the enormous potential of gas in terms of both performance and cost-effectiveness. LPG has been our primary product for decades. Over the years, we have been involved in importing, storing and distributing to customers. Working alongside our customers has allowed us to understand the needs of industry and transport, without neglecting the habits of private individuals in heating their homes not served by city networks.
In the early decades, we quickly climbed the market rankings, both in industry and transport, as well as in the private customer sector. Through our constant commitment and, above all, by investing all our resources, we have managed to become one of the leading Italian groups in the distribution of LPG and products dedicated to the world of transport. This is where we start!
Società Italiana Gas Liquidi Spa has always been attentive to both macroeconomic contexts and the sustainability of its actions, starting from a simple concept: advanced societies are energy-intensive societies. In our opinion, the challenge lies in knowing how to combine development with respect for the environment and the health of the planet.
Hence our decision, at the end of the first decade of the 2000s, to seek out a new product,
LNG , to complement LPG in order to increasingly meet the sustainability and cost-effectiveness requirements imposed by the current times.
In less than ten years, our group has become the leading Italian operator and one of the leading operators in Europe in the marketing of LNG and BIO-LNG. In parallel with fossil fuels, we have invested in the distribution of BIO products (
BIO-LNG ) and look to the future with enthusiasm, considering both biofuels and BIO-LPG.
For Società Italiana Gas Liquidi Spa, the energy transition must be embraced with vigour but implemented gently, allowing everyone to use energy with very low or zero carbon impact. This is the basis for the group's commitment to investing in energy production from totally renewable sources.
